Schools in Emsland

Communities in Emsland place great value on maintaining their primary schools. After completion of primary school, students have a variety of secondary schools in the towns to choose from. Windthorst Gymnasium in Meppen and Georgianum Gymnasium even offer some courses in both German and English. Young people can also attend the Berufsbildenden Schulen Lingen (Ems), which offers certificates in a number of disciplines.

Lingen (Ems), a university community

Lingen (Ems) is a university community. More than 2,000 students attend classes at the branch campus of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. Course offerings range from mechanical engineering to communication management to theater pedagogy. Students invigorate the city sustainably and bring about positive changes. We capitalize on their presence and work closely with the University in dual degree programs, projects, internships, and final theses.
