Career Orientation for Everyones Taste!

In a nutshell:

  • Young talents from the region find out about training opportunities and dual study programs at the ROSEN Talent Day

  • In focus: Exchange with apprentices and trainers

  • Workshops provide insights into various occupational fields

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the ROSEN Talent Day took place for the fifth time at our Innovation Center in Lingen (Ems). Around 80 young talents from the region learned about a wide range of apprenticeships and dual study programs in our company at the trainee fair. During the event, they had the opportunity to design the program according to their individual taste, to attend workshops for many professions and dual study courses and to exchange ideas with apprentices and trainers.

Discover the taste of different professions

"After the positive feedback from last year, the workshops for various professions are now an integral part of our trainee fair. True to the motto: Just try it (out) and see what tastes good. Testimonials about everyday work in a profession only give a limited insight. Gaining one's own experience often enables completely different impressions," explained Clara Wehmeier (Human Resources). "The workshops offer young people an excellent opportunity to get their bearings when choosing a career. They can try themselves out and find out what they really enjoy. If someone finds out during a workshop that the desired profession does not taste good after all, this is also an important insight. At the same time, young talents can discover professions that they may not have been aware of," Clara continues.

A 90-minute trial and test

At the ROSEN Talent Day 2024, participants could choose from six different workshops: Business Administration, IT, Software Programming or Electrical Engineering as well as the interdisciplinary course 3D Design and Metal Processing. For those who were undecided, there was also a workshop on career orientation. In the workshops, which lasted up to 90 minutes, the young talents gained their own practical experience and asked the trainers and apprentices numerous questions. The four information booths in the Innovation Center also provided an opportunity for countless discussions. Here, the skilled workers of tomorrow were able to find out about the topics of technical product design, factory/metal processing, electrical engineering and warehouse logistics.

Enthusiastic participants - acquired a new taste

Maike from the Franziskusgymnasium in Lingen said about her personal ROSEN Talent Day: "I attended the workshop on career orientation. In the workshop, I reflected on my strengths and weaknesses and discovered many talents that I was not aware of before. Through the workshop, I also found out that I can imagine working in the field of technical product design later on." Mika from the Marienschule Lingen attended the workshop on electrical engineering at the same time. "I really enjoyed the workshops today. I think ROSEN is a very nice company and I can definitely recommend the ROSEN Talent Day," he sums up his experiences.

Iced tea, cake and virtual reality

During the ROSEN Talent Day, accompanying persons were also able to obtain extensive information about our company during guided tours of our production areas at the Lingen site. The supporting program was completed by cool iced tea, coffee, cake, an ice cream truck and a gaming zone. The latter invited the young people between their workshops to try their hand at a round of Mario Kart or to immerse themselves in virtual reality. There was also a great rush on the stands of the HR department. Here, the experienced recruiters and personnel developers gave advice on applications and interviews throughout the event.
