Let's Give it a Try!

In a nutshell:

  • Young talents from the region find out about training opportunities and dual study programs at ROSEN Talent Day

  • In focus: Exchange with apprentices and trainers

  • Workshops provide insights into various occupational fields

On Thursday, June 29, once again we opened our doors to young talents from the region. At the ROSEN Talent Day 2023, interested students had the chance to learn about a wide range of apprenticeships and dual study programs at our company. They had the opportunity to organize the day according to their individual interests and to attend workshops for many professions and dual study programs. The students took the chance to exchange ideas with apprentices as well as trainers.

Get a Taste of Different Professions

"This year, for the first time, we are also offering workshops for various professions at our trainee fair. The motto: Just try it and see what tastes good. The idea of having a profession from narratives, for example, is one thing. But getting a real insight into the job can be quite another impression," explained Clara Wehmeier (Human Resources). "The workshops help young people get their bearings when it's time to choosing a career. They can try out for themselves what they really enjoy. Even if someone discovers during a workshop that their dream job doesn't fit after all, that's an important insight. On the other hand, the young talents can discover professions they may not have had in mind at all," Clara continues.

90 Minutes of Practice

The participants could choose from six different workshops: Business Administration, IT, Software Programming or Electrical Engineering, as well as the cross-occupational 3D Design and Metalworking course. For those who were undecided, there was also a workshop on career orientation. In workshops of up to 90 minutes each, they were given direct insights into practical work and took the opportunity to ask trainers and apprentices numerous questions. The specialists of tomorrow were also able to engage in direct exchange at four information booths. Here, information was available on the topics of technical product design, factory/metal processing, electrical engineering and warehouse logistics.

From the Idea to the Finished Product

Commenting on his personal Talent Day, Leo from the Schulzentrum Lohne said: "I took part in the '3D design and metalworking' workshop. I really liked that you got to know everything, from the idea, to the creation of the drawing, to the machining of the components and the assembly with the industrial mechanics, and now you have the finished key board in your hands." Nele from the Gymnasium Nordhorn attended the same workshop. "I decided to take the course because the topic generally interests me and I also want to do something in the direction of manufacturing. It was great to screw something together here myself and see how metal is processed," she says, summing up her experience.

Iced Tea and Mario Kart

As a supporting program, in addition to cool iced tea, coffee, cake and an ice cream truck, there was also a gaming zone where the young people could play a round of Mario Kart between their workshops. Accompanying persons had the opportunity to take part in guided tours of the manufacturing areas. There was also a big rush to the HR department booths. Here, our experienced recruiters and HR developers gave advice on job applications and interviews throughout the event.
