Supporting the Talents of Tomorrow

In a nutshell:

  • ROSEN awards four scholarships with the Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V. as well as four promotional awards in cooperation with the University of Osnabrück.
  • The award ceremonies have taken place in presence again this year and the scholarship holders of the last three years were invited.

June and July were again dominated by young scientists. On June 2, four scholarships were awarded in cooperation with the University of Osnabrück, while on July 28, four scholarships were awarded in cooperation with Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V.. Both award ceremonies could again take place in presence this year. The Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V. took this opportunity to also honor the scholarship recipients from the last three years.

Getting to know in person

The scholarships donated by ROSEN were handed over this year by Annika Knurr (Human Resources). She was particularly pleased about the awards ceremony for the Emsland scholarship at the Lingen Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück: "It was very nice to meet the scholarship holders in person again at the Lingen Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück and to establish personal contacts with them. The awarding of the scholarships took place in a ceremonial setting, overall, there was a relaxed atmosphere in which the scholarship recipients and their sponsors could get to know each other."

Professional exchange and new experiences

We are particularly pleased about the sponsorship of Christian Timmer. He has already completed his training as a Technical Product Designer - specializing in machine and plant design with us from August 2016 to January 2019, and now, after completing his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he has is a permanent part of the ROSEN family as a Junior Mechanical Engineer in the IC Resourcing Mechanical Design department since August 1. "I think it's great that ROSEN supports and encourages students during their studies through various scholarships. I was already able to get to know the company during my apprenticeship at ROSEN, but the various scholarships also offer upcoming talents who have not had any contact with the company before the opportunity to exchange professional ideas and gain new experience," Christian said about his scholarship.

Network for the professional future

In addition to Christian Timmer and Kasper Johannes Rosen (business informatics, working student in AIPL, EmslandScholarship 2022), Rafael Braun (business informatics, EmslandScholarship 2020) was able to participate in the event organized by Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V..

With the two scholarships, students not only receive financial support, but also the unique opportunity to get in touch with the sponsoring companies and thus build up a network for their professional future while still studying.

About the Emsland Scholarship:

Through the EmslandStipendium, talented students are supported who perform very well in their studies, excel in their social commitment and/or are in a difficult financial situation. The EmslandScholarship is financed by member companies of the Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V. or partners particularly associated with the association.

For the past 2 years, the Wirtschaftsverband Emsland e.V. has also been awarding scholarships to students who have a personal connection to Emsland but do not study here as part of the "EmslandTalents - Scholarship of the Region" program. The scholarship holders and fellows receive the same monthly funding amount of 100 euros as those who receive the EmslandScholarship.

About the promotional award:

The University of Osnabrück awards more than 20 different promotional awards each year. The promotional awards honor excellent achievements and social commitment of outstanding students and graduates and give them public visibility. The prizes, which are awarded in cooperation with various institutions, companies, foundations and associations, illustrate the University of Osnabrück's good networking in the region and its commitment to Osnabrück as a center of science.
