Sunshine on your face, sand under your feet and a cocktail in your hand – at first glance, that sounds like your last beach vacation? Wrong guess. Such an atmosphere can also be found here in the beautiful Emsland region. A vacation in the Caribbean is not necessary for this.
Caribbean Feeling in Emsland
For the ROSEN Summer Night, we opened our very own Caribbean outpost at the Lingen (Ems) location in mid-June. With beach vibes and flamingo power, our test field was hardly recognizable. Where pipes were previously stored and pull and pump tests were carried out, an event area with a marquee, food court and beach area with cocktail bar was created for the Summer Night.
The More Colorful, the Better
On June 16, the time had come: In perfect weather, our event area gradually filled up from 7 pm onwards. A total of around 1,700 colleagues and their companions enjoyed the summer atmosphere at our location that evening. The motto on site was: "The more colorful, the better". Summery outfits and colorful Hawaiian shirts were rounded off by colorful flower necklaces.
Some of the colleagues arrived for the Summer Night with shuttle buses from the surrounding area. Arriving in our little Caribbean corner, cool welcome drinks were already waiting, which immediately brought that vacation feeling. Finally, our president Hermann Rosen officially opened the festivities with a speech and a warm welcome.
Culinary Delights and Music for Every Taste
After that, it was time to hit the food trucks. And the culinary selection was great. From falafel to pulled pork burgers and langos, all facets of taste were catered for. To make the summer feeling complete, many enjoyed the beach area with an ice cream or a cocktail in hand.
From 10:30 pm, the band Goodfellas created a great atmosphere with their live music. With songs like "Can't stop the feeling" by Justin Timberlake, "Wonderwall" by Oasis and "Lose yourself" by Eminem, they covered several music genres and made sure that there was something for everyone. The ever-filled dance floor confirmed this. Before they finished their performance around half past one, they organized a polonaise through the marquee together with the dancers. The secret stars of our Summer Night, the Flamingos, also made a guest appearance on the dance floor that evening and showed their skills.
Midsummer Night
In the end, the ROSEN Summer Night lived up to its name. The summer temperatures and the carefully designed event area created an exuberant atmosphere, which was celebrated by some until the last minute. With the first birds chirping and the rising sun, which almost appeared on the horizon, the last colleagues left the premises at 4 o'clock in the morning.
