Our colleague Louis started his apprenticeship as an IT Specialist in Application Development with us in August 2020. Back then, he mentioned in his profile during the Onboarding week that programming was one of his hobbies. He has now turned this hobby into a profession, as he completed his training in the summer with outstanding results as the best in the district.
"I've always enjoyed programming incredibly much. Now I've actually turned my hobby into a profession. I would never have expected to be the best in the district. I was totally surprised when I received the invitation to the award ceremony," says Louis looking back.
Awards ceremony in Osnabrück
At the award ceremony in the Osnabrück Hall, a total of 43 trainees from over 4,200 examination participants in over 130 different training occupations from the Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim IHK district were honored as the best in their profession. They all passed their final exams with the top grade of "very good".
The final examination consisted of several parts. In addition to general and subject-specific knowledge, a project was also part of the exam. "My project was about extending the Visual Studio development environment. I passed the final presentation of the project with 100 percent. I'm very proud of that," says Louis.
Future prospects
Natalie Niemann (Talent Management Specialist) is also satisfied: "It is our goal to prepare young talents for their careers in the best possible way. We are therefore delighted with this great achievement and the recognition from the IHK."
Since completing his apprenticeship, Louis has started his career with us as a Junior Software Developer. "Now I want to gain the necessary professional experience to take on the role of Professional Software Developer in the future," says Louis, looking to the future.
Congratulations again and all the best for your professional career!
