3/13/2024 |News

Connection established - knowledge transfer started

In a nutshell:

  • 8th  in-house fair Creation Day under the motto "CONNECT"

  • 19 current topics, including new technologies, products, services, trends, processes and business areas

  • Exciting presentations in the creative area 'Windmühle', live pull tests on the Test Field and interesting tours through the Factory

  • Six hours full of discussions, lively knowledge transfer and insights into our various areas of expertise

Ultra short-pulse lasers, our core business around EMAT and MFL technologies and new AI projects: These were only a few of the topics of this year's Creation Day, which took place in and around the Innovation Center at the Lingen (Ems) site last Wednesday. Colleagues from our locations in Germany, Oldenzaal (Netherlands) and Newcastle (England), among others, came together again this year for our in-house fair to establish contacts and exchange knowledge on site.

Innovations as far as you can see

In the morning, Markus Brors (Chief Technology Officer) and Chris Yoxall (Chief Operating Officer) opened the event day in our well-filled Rotrium. At 19 booths, our colleagues were then able to "connect" on a wide variety of topics. This was not difficult, given the large number of prototypes, test setups, videos, samples and posters – as far as the eye could see, there was something new for everyone to discover.

A connection for the future

This year's motto CONNECT was visibly lived during the Creation Day. Colleagues who do not have direct contact with each other in everyday working life or who had previously only met in digital meetings got to know each other better during our in-house fair and exchanged ideas about their respective departments. There were numerous opportunities to be updated on the projects and successes of the other departments and to create lasting connections for future cooperation.

Knowledge transfer up to the last moment

This was evident in the lively discussions that our exhibitors had with their audience throughout the day about project updates. The background noise confirmed: in the Rotrium, a constant transfer of knowledge took place at every corner. The entry into the creative corridor 'Windmühle' only continued this. In various presentations, interested parties learned more about the topic of hydrogen, gained insights into the statistical explanations of field validations and learned about field verification.

Throughout the day, the Factory tours and the live pull tests on the Test Field provided variety. These provided an insight into our processes at the Lingen site beyond the Innovation Center and led one or the other into areas of our site that were previously unknown to them.

The value of Creation Day for internal transfer of knowledge within the company was particularly evident in the number of visitors to the Rotrium. The hum of the numerous conversations could be heard until the end of the event and even then only reluctantly stopped. We are already looking forward to the next Creation Day.
