Artificial Intelligence, our core business around inline inspection technologies, our autonomous underwater vehicle and Mare-IT – these are just some of the project updates that awaited us last Wednesday in and around the Innovation Center at the Lingen (Ems) site at this year's Creation Day. It was especially nice that our popular in-house fair could take place again in all its glory: with our colleagues on site!
This year's motto UPDATING was fitting in many ways. Some colleagues got to know each other for the first time, others finally met offline and everyone had the chance to be brought up to date on the work, mood and successes of the other departments.
Dirk van Vinckenroye (Head of Location Lingen) and Markus Brors (Head of Innovation Center) officially launched the event in the morning in front of numerous colleagues. 17 projects formed the colorful bouquet for our Up-Date and, just like in the years before the pandemic, there were finally insights into the topics of our colleagues, a lot to discover and to try out. Whether prototype, test setup, videos, samples or posters – all senses were served.
Exhibitors engaged in lively exchanges with their audience, and thus, in addition to the sunny warmth in the atrium (for us: Rotrium), the perfect temperature for sharing ideas quickly arose. Real 'hot topics' were then also presented in the meeting rooms and the arena of our creative floor.
The Test Center and Factory tours promised variety, taking the colleagues to places they had previously only heard or read about. Glimpses of the new Manufacturing or the Test Center building were a real eye-opener.
The reunion on site was particularly focused in our creative area, the mill. Here, colleagues were able to retreat in a quiet scenic atmosphere and engage in guided or casual conversations. For example, they talked shop about current 'Projects Hollywood' in a small movie theater, chatted on our 'picnicking-up-ideas' lawn, or celebrated gathering at a 'CanDo Light dinner' in a staged Italian restaurant.
Many thanks to all those involved in making Creation Day 2022 a successful 'seventh date'.
