In a nutshell:
- Second ‚Colors of ROSEN' event
- Focus topic: Identity
- Colorful program
- Lectures, readings, workshops and short films for our colleagues
Last Thursday, we celebrated a colorful festival of diversity with the second 'Colors of ROSEN' event. After last year's kick-off under the theme of 'Cultural Diversity', this year's event was dedicated to the topic of 'Identity'. Among other things, various workshops and presentations provided the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information on this topic. In doing so, we have taken an important step towards dealing more intensively with diversity in the future. The aim of the series of events is to raise awareness about these important topics and to convey practical approaches on how diversity can be lived in both professional and private life.
Favorite Color: Multicolored
As soon as you entered the location, it was clear that colors were the focus here. Colorful garlands and flowers decorated the event and created an inviting atmosphere. The Book Corner was particularly cozy, a retreat with comfortable sofas and a digital fireplace, where selected literature was presented. There was also a photo box where colleagues could decorate themselves with colorful stickers, buttons and water tattoos and capture a special moment of the day. Culinary delights were also on offer: An ice cream van and a colorful selection of drinks and snacks provided refreshment and a little snack in between.
Diversity Management in Companys
At around 2 pm, the organizing team and head of location Carlos Sabido Ponce opened the event. And they did so in three languages – German, English and Spanish – which underlined the inclusive idea of the event. The first item on the agenda was an exciting presentation by Myriam Erath (engineer and founder of the start-up CWO), whose keynote speech 'Diversity management in companies' not only made the audience smile, but also provided aha moments. Myriam showed us what diversity and, in particular, diversity management means and explained how important it is for companies.
Inclusion at Work
Another highlight was the presentation by our colleague Fenja. In her presentation 'Inclusive language in everyday life', she took us through the intricacies of inclusive communication and used numerous examples in different languages to demonstrate how the spoken and written word can contribute to greater inclusion. Our colleague Tobias delved deeper into the topic with his presentation 'How to be an ally - How to be an inclusive colleague?' and showed how practical strategies and behaviors can promote inclusion in the workplace.
Unconscious Bias
In addition to the lectures, there was even more to discover at the event: Two readings were on the agenda on the stage in the Rotrium, each featuring an excerpt from selected literature. At the same time, the 'Mühle' attracted visitors with a varied short film program in various languages. There was also a workshop on the topic of 'Unconscious Bias', which encouraged participants to think about and question their own prejudices. In addition, the ZSG (Center for Sexual Health) was our guest and was available to answer questions on the topics of gender identity, sexual orientation and individual self-determination.
Many thanks to everyone who attended the event and celebrated the colorful diversity of ROSEN colleagues with us.
