In a nutshell:
• Blood donation and typing campaign at ROSEN in Lingen (Ems) was a complete success - thanks to everyone involved!
• “Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK)” and “Deutscher Stammzellspenderverein (DSD)” on site at ROSEN
• 130 colleagues donated blood
• 19 colleagues registered as stem cell donors
On August 14, 2024, we had a visit from the ‘Deutsche Rote Kreuz’ (DRK) and the ‘Deutsche Stammzellspenderverein’ (DSD) for the second time at our site in Lingen. So what can we say? It was once again a complete success!
Give life, donate blood.
A total of 130 colleagues took the opportunity to donate blood. With this number of blood donations, we even exceeded last year's figure (126 donations in 2023).
These blood donations are incredibly valuable because they help to save lives - whether after accidents, during operations or in the treatment of serious illnesses. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all donors.
Typing for possible stem cell donation
In addition to donating blood, there was also the opportunity to be typed in order to be registered as a potential stem cell donor. Last year, we were able to offer some colleagues the opportunity to register who were not yet registered. This year, with 19 typings, we once again exceeded the desired ratio of typing at least 10 percent of donors. To our great delight, many colleagues indicated that they had already been typed.
Important to know: It does not matter which association or organization you choose to be registered with. All data are collected centrally, so it is essential that as many potential donors as possible are registered. The more people who are typed, the greater the chance of finding a suitable donor for a sick patient. A great gesture that can help people with leukemia or other serious blood diseases in particular. Stem cell donations are often the last hope for those affected and can save lives.
At the end, our donors were able to enjoy a delicious buffet at our company restaurant ROFRESH.
